Jon Hamar was born and raised in Kennewick, Washington. He attended Eastern Washington University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Double Bass Performance. In 1999 Jon moved to Rochester, New York where he attended the Eastman School of Music. Jon completed a masters degree in Jazz and Contemporary Media with an emphasis on Double Bass performance in 2001. Jon now resides in Seattle, Washington and is in high demand keeping active in many different genres of music.
