We
are pleased to present this CD by the extraordinary pianist:
Larry Fuller Trio, Easy Walker. It features the
legendary bassist Ray Brown and the incomparable drummer Jeff
Hamilton, recorded in 1998, just as Fuller was transitioning
from being a member Hamilton's trio to being a member of Brown's
popular trio. Fuller remained a member of Brown's grooving ensemble
until the bassist's passing in 2002.
Larry Fuller has become installed
into the continuing tradition of jazz music over the years as
a younger member of many well-known groups as a sideman at festivals,
famous clubs, and world tours. Stanley Turrentine, Ernestine
Anderson, Sweets Edison, etc. One listen will tell you why -
he swings with an authority and infectious bravado.
This tremendous recording was originally
presented by the Japanese label - and friends of Ray Brown's - GML
Records. It was not available in the US until now. Our many thanks
to GML for their friendship. On a trip to Japan, we made arrangements
to present this and several other recordings of like sort, in exchange
for GML presenting Pony Boy releases to Japan and Asia, in an "XRCD"
format (Extend Resolution CD).
